FOCUS AREA 5: RESEARCH
GUIDING PRINCIPLES.
PWSA envisions a USA and a world in which each of the following is true:
PWSA has the financial resources, the influence with funding sources (NIH,
etc), the organizational capabilities, the network, the membership, and the
determination to independently lead the world in understanding and thereby
curing / alleviating PWS:
- We know the reasons for and the symptoms of PWS
- We have identified therapies to reduce or eliminate all the symptoms of
PWS (especially hyperphagia)
- We have improved the health, the quality of life, and the life
expectancy of those with PWS
