Annual Valentine’s Day Research Campaign

Join with Prader-Willi Syndrome Association (USA) for the 9th Annual Valentine’s Day Research Campaign. Help to raise money to support PWSA (USA) research grants, seeking a cure for PWS.

This is very easy to do either online or by postal mail.  To participate, follow the steps below and then requests for donations to as many people as possible. Ask for a tax-deductible contribution in honor/memory of your special valentine who has/had PWS.

Steps for Raising Funds online: 

• Go to www.firstgiving.com/pwsausa and click on ”Get Started”
• Check Valentine’s Day Research Campaign event
• Follow the step-by-step prompts until completion. Click here for sample firstgiving page text.
• Three important things to remember after creating your account and page:
• E-mail address
• Password
• Firstgiving.com web page address that you’ll send to others

Once you have your page set up, send an email invitation to your prospective donors, with the link to your Fristgiving page. (PWSA (USA) has a sample email template that you can personalize for sending.)  Your donors go to your Firstgiving page and make their donations online.  Firstgiving.com sends an automatic e-mail, confirming their donation.

All donations will go directly to PWSA (USA), and we will send an acknowledgement “thank you” letter to donors.  We recommend that you send a personalized handwritten thank-you note or email to donors as well.  

Steps for Raising Funds by Postal Mail:

Personalize the letter, make copies and send to as many people as you wish
• If you have set up a Firstgiving.com webpage, provide your web page address in your letter to potential donors A donation can be made either online or by check.  Click here for sample firstgiving page text.
• PWSA (USA) will send an acknowledgement “thank you” letter to donors
• We recommend that you send a personalized handwritten thank-you note or email to donors as well

** If you do not have access to a computer or copy machine, PWSA (USA) will do it for you. Supply a picture of your sweetheart (if available), quantity needed, and one address to where items should be shipped by January 24, 2011. Items will be mailed no later than the first week in February.
